Palm River Hotel wins ‘Best New Establishment’
Awarded by the Association of Zimbabwe Travel Agents (AZTA)
On the 10th of September, the Association of Zimbabwe Travel Agents (AZTA) awards ceremony took place at Cresta Lodge in Harare, Zimbabwe. The event was well attended by over 230 travel agents, Destination Marketing Companies, hotels and operators within the tourism industry. In an ode to the return of tourism after 2 years of disruption from Covid-19, the event was themed “Back to the Future”, complete with a grand dining set-up and décor suited to the topical theme.
The Palm River Hotel was nominated for the “Best New Establishment” and won first place ahead of other new industry partners including Pioneers Lodge, Mbano Manor, Fothergill Island and others.
The ‘Best New Establishment’ award is typically announced once every two years with the last announcement taking place in 2019. As a result, the Palm River Hotel wins Best New Establishment based on an accumulation of four years of new additions to the travel industry – a momentous achievement for our wonderful property and acknowledge by our local region.
The AZTA awards take place each year, bringing together AZTA was formed over 60 years ago by a group of travel agents with the intent of joining forces to become one voice to suppliers and authorities, thereby ensuring it would be represented and respected as an industry player. AZTA has grown to a membership of 55 throughout Zimbabwe and is registered with the Zimbabwe Tourism Authority, the International Air Transport Authority, the United Federation of Travel Agents Association and the Tourism Business Council of Zimbabwe.
