Now, thanks to our brand new riverside deck, guests of Palm River Hotel can get even closer to all of it – with a drink in hand, great food on the table, and the African sky stretching out, uninterrupted, overhead.

We are absolutely thrilled to introduce the Palm River Hotel’s new multi-level riverside deck, spread out across our lawns on the riverbank, right by the Ra-Ikane River Cruise jetty.

With space for up to 60 guests, this elevated spot gives you one of the best views of the Zambezi River you’ll find anywhere in Victoria Falls! Whether you’re starting your evening here or simply soaking up the afternoon sun, it is hard to beat the peaceful ambience of being right on the water’s edge.

Of course, building anything this close to nature comes with responsibility. Our deck has been cleverly designed using only temporary materials – which means that it can be completely relocated without leaving any trace on the environment.

For our guests, by extension, this also means that this stunning location can be enjoyed guilt-free, knowing that Palm River Hotel remains fully committed to protecting the pristine riverside we are so lucky to call our base.

One of the best things about the new deck is the way it sets the scene for our popular Riverside Dining Experience, which will be hosted here from now on.

As the sun dips low and the evening cool sets in, the open coal fires are lit, filling the air with the mouthwatering aroma of traditional Zimbabwean cooking.

Dinner here is an event in itself. Expect a three-course feast featuring some true local specialties, including crocodile and kudu steaks for the adventurous, along with fresh salads, plenty of sides, and a selection of premium wines and beverages.

While you eat, local musicians and traditional dancers provide gentle entertainment with mbira tunes and hand-held drums.

Of course, it is not all about dinner. The deck also plays host to our elegant Riverside High Tea.

This is the perfect way to slow down and soak up the view during the late afternoon hours. Under the soft shade of Jackalberry trees, guests can enjoy a glass of bubbly to start, followed by a beautifully-presented spread of sweet and savoury treats.

The river drifts by, the birds go about their business, and for an hour or two, the world feels wonderfully simple.

Thanks to its size and location, our new deck is not just for romantic dinners or relaxed teas. With the addition of the sweeping lawn area, it is also a fantastic venue for private events and group gatherings.
