Victoria Falls: By The Numbers

In terms of cubic water volume, the mighty Victoria Falls is the largest sheet of falling water in the world. This, compounded by its undeniable power and breathtaking beauty have qualified it as one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World.

There’s a lot to be said for standing before such a powerful body of water. Everything about walking through the rainforest beside the Falls, from listening to the crash of the river’s plummet to getting soaked through by drops of water that are whipped out from the chasm below, is pretty awe-inspiring.

The number of entrance gates to view Victoria Falls. One is at the entrance to Victoria Falls National Park in Zimbabwe; the other is at the entrance to Mosi-Oa-Tunya National Park in Zambia.

Two is also the number of islands on the crest of the Falls that are large enough to split up the river before the drop.
